Charice is Going to Sing the RP Anthem at Inauguration

Proud Filipina Singing Sensation Charice Pempengco will play a very important role to the historical 15th President Inauguration of President Elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to sing the Philippine National Anthem. Just arriving a few hours ago from the U.S. to do her historical performance and will be staying here just for 3 days then will head back again to the U.S. for her Red Hot & Boom in Orlando, Florida. She’ll start shooting for the TV series on July 28, 2010 for the Glee season 2 new cast member. She also said that she will start her training in Broadway.

“Very proud” very proud to be part of the historic event. “syempre sobrang proud na maging part ng history (of course I am very proud to be part of history). Charice said on a phone interview.

Together with Charice to sing the Philippine national Anthem are Madrigal Singers and to be conducted by Mr. Ryan Cayabyab which makes her doubly proud and excited in the event. The Inauguration singing will take place in Quirino Grandstand.

Charice and her mother, Raquel Pempengco, flew home from the United States just for the occasion. They arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 103 from Los Angeles, California at 7 a.m. She attended a practice session in the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Charice will stay in Manila Hotel for the Inauguration event.

It is not her first time to be part of such historical important event. If you will recall the 18-year-old “Pyramid” singer also performed at one of US President Barack Obama’s pre-inauguration balls.
