The famous rapper “Guru” dies at the age of 43 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was best known as the former front man of the group Gang Starr. Together with his partner DJ Premier, they released six albums until an acrimonious split in 2003.
Famous Gang Starr Rapper Guru was born Keith Elam. Guru’s producer said that he had been suffering from cancer for over a year and that they’ve been trying to keep his condition a secret. They tried many treatments but all had failed. At late February, Guru had a cardiac arrest and fell into a coma days after the incident.
Gang Starr was founded by graffiti artists Horne and Elboin 1985. They helped pioneer the New York hip hop sound and a lot of artists who have accomplished success owes much to them.
