South Korean sailors missing after their ship sank near the disputed maritime border with North Korea and up until now the search continuous on. After an unexplained explosion that ripped through the hull of the naval patrol vessel shutting off the engine and quickly taking the ship down in the bottom of the sea causing 46 sailors to be lost at sea.

The naval patrol vessel sank off the west coast of the divided peninsula, in an area which has seen deadly exchanges of fire between the navies of the North and South in the past. South Korean President Lee Myung-bak convened an emergency meeting of security officials and said all possible causes for the sinking would be investigated, but the focus now is on rescuing the sailors. So far Fifty-eight sailors have been rescued
